Oldest Hotel-Casino
Built in 1941, the El Cortez is the oldest hotel-casino in town. The southwest wing retains the original adobe brick building, tiled roof and neon marquee that once stood three blocks from the nearest paved street. The hotel was once owned by Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel and sold when he needed to raise cash for his fabulous Flamingo Hotel on the Strip. Today, the El Cortez Hotel & Casino attracts value-conscious travelers, serious gamblers, seniors and locals alike. No Saturday Arrivals Allowed.
