The Fontainebleau is a AAA-4 Diamond and Mobil-4 Star rated Miami Beach legend and landmark premium oceanfront resort and convention hotel. This is the Grand Central of all hotels - the busiest, the biggest and the most ornate. The Fontainebleau posseses international sophistication with every President since Eisenhower staying here and top entertainers performing here such as Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Bob Hope, Sammy Davis Jr. and Lucille Ball. In addition, the resort has provided a sumptuous setting where famous films have been shot including: Goldfinger, Scarface, The Bellboy and The Bodyguard. Designed in the 50's by Morris Lapidus, the Fontainebleau has a signature crescent-shaped main building and sits on 20 acres of oceanfront property which greets you with a 1/2 acre lagoon style rock grotto pool with cascading waterfalls surrounded by lush tropical greenery. The seaside boardwalk which runs along our two mile sandy beach leads to the famed Art Deco District. The lobby area is impressive with it's marble columns, unusual archways and a sweeping staircase creating an atmosphere of regal splendor. The resort continues to reflect the gracious ambiance and prestige it has been famous for since the day it opened. Year of Last Complete Room Furnishing Replacement - The hotel is currently undergoing a renovation program which will last throughout all of 1999 and may go into 2000. Renovations include rehab of corridors, refurbishment of Hospitality Suites, renovations of bathrooms, sealing, caulking and painting of the building exteriors, and the creation of a new children's water playground, children's playroom and new Food and Beverage restaurant. Any work which will involve noise in the buildings will be done on vacant floors so guests will not be disturbed. It is the goal of the hotel to service guests as usual with a minimal amount of disruption during their stay.
